Bart Guthrie

Bart Guthrie was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA as a huge Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan. Upon graduation from high school he entered the Air Force. He then made a career of the Air Force retiring after 21 years as a Human Resources Superintendent. While stationed in Massachusetts he met his wife Rosemary, who was also serving on active duty. They were married there. The military took him to a variety of locations in the United States along with one tour in South East Asia during the Vietnam War and a four year hardship tour The Netherlands.

Upon his retirement in 1987, he was employed by the State of Colorado at Pikes Peak Community College. He worked there for 19 years retiring in 2006. He was hired to provide education programs to active duty military. Bart was the director of military campuses in Colorado Springs and across the United States. Along with the military campuses, he ran contract programs for the College along with education programs for the National Guard in Colorado and in many States. He also served as Assistant to the Vice President for Educational Services and Director of the Rampart Range Campus.

Bart is a member of Colorado Springs Lodge #76, Southern Colorado Consistory, Colorado Springs York Rite Bodies, and Al Kaly Shriners. He was Master of Lodge 76 in 1995, Memorial Lodge # 2 in 2003 and served as Al Kaly’s Potentate in 2000. In 2006 he was elected Recorder, Al Kaly Shriners. Some of his Masonic activities include member of the Grand Lodge Scholarship Committee, Secretary of Lodge 76 and a Trustee, and a member of many units in Al Kaly Shriners where he has served as president of each at one time or another. In the Scottish Rite, Bart is a 32nd degree KCCH, officer in the Lodge of Perfection, member of the Properties Division, Wise Master for Rose Croix Funerals and director/member of three degree teams.

Bart possesses an Associates , Bachelors, and masters degree in business administration. He and Rosemary have three children, seven grand children, three step-grand children, and three great grand children. Besides their family, their love is Masonic activities/friends, camping, their animals – Rusty I of Briargate (Corgi dog) and Sissy II (Tortoise shell cat), the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos.
