Fremont Shrine Club

Nobles, we had our 1st stated meeting on Sept. 6th. It was an overwhelming success as we had 28 Nobles and their Ladies in attendance along with 3 of our Honored Ladies. McCellens Gril and Brewing did a great job, the food and service were excellent,and they worked hard to accommodate us. I am pleased to announce that next months meeting which will be held Oct 4th will be there also. The Divan was well represented Illustrious Sir Bill Stoner and his Lady Rose arrived during social hour as well as several Divan members.

We had 5 new members added last night and I would like to take this opportunity to say welcome and thank you, this brings our total membership to 19 and growing. Illustrious Sir Bill installed the Clubs President Mike Madden and Secretary Bill Clugston, our Vice President Richard Mills could not make it last night because he went and got himself married Friday the 5th and on was on his honeymoon. On behalf of all the members of the Club, CONGRATULATIONS to Richard and his new Lady. Our Treasurer David Burous was also out of town, so both will be installed at a later date. The Potentate turned the meeting back over to Mike who welcomed everyone and conducted a little business.

Business: At the Al Kaly Stated meeting we were given our packet for the Basketball Ads we were given 5 contracts two of which are being used. We need to fill all 5 contracts so we can put alittle more money in the bank, so if you know of someone who might be interested in placing an ad please call our secretary and he will get the paperwork to you. Also the 2009 calendars were discussed and orders are being taken by Al Kaly. Members Voted to hold next months meeting again at McCellens which concluded business for the night and Mike Turned the meeting back over to the Potentate. Illustrious Sir Bill introduced his Lady Rose and the Divan. He expressed his best wishes and support to the members of the Club and thanked us for reconstituting the Fremont Shrine Club. His hope is to see us flourish and be a success. He also would like to see screening clinics done here in Fremont at least 1 per quarter. This is something I too would like to see. After all this is part of being a Shriner. The Potentate closed the meeting by asking Noble Grant Anderson to give the closing Prayer. All in all it was a great evening and we are looking forward to many more. To our members Thank You, to those who aren’t come join us, we need your experience and support. There is a lot to do and we need to fill the committees so we can get to the real work of helping the kids of Fremont and Custer Counties.
